butterfly card

I had a bit of fun playing with my paints and inks on Friday, as you do, and made a couple of cards I was very happy with. This one was created by going swoosh over the white card with my stenciling ink pad. Love the effect of that. I embossed the white flowers with my heat gun - yes, it's addictive I know - and wrote the message with watercolours. Fun fun.

Newborn card

So many women pregnant at the moment! Another Mum in our mums group is due next month. This little one will be baby number 4 in the past few months alone. I had great pleasure being asked to make the card - my first commission! The front features Jenni Bowlin tickets which are so vintage cute. I can't wait to use them in the baby albums.

I used calico on the card, which I sewed around, inked with pink ink, added the tickets with foam squares, stamped a green swirlie at the top, added ric rac and a Collections chipboard heart, and wrote the message with a brush pen.

See-through acetate CD gift card

I made this card to hold the CD I compiled as a gift for my sister. As the CD pen seems to have run out of ink, I experimented with other kinds. In the end I used the pens that are designed to write on non-porous services (white boards and overhead transparencies). These items are virtually obselete by now I guess.

I used the Staz On black ink to stamp the flourish on the card itself and it seems to have dried ok. I folded the card three times using a wooden ruler, so as not to scratch the transparency. The top is tied together with string, through a little hole made with a hole punch.

Looking forward to experimenting more with transparencies.
